The Melia was perfect for what we were looking for. We walked right out of our room about 30 feet to the beach and plenty of chairs. We never had to save or look for a place to sit. The staff there was extermely friendly and helpful. We had our wedding there and the wedding coordinator , could not have been better. It was everything we dreamed of. The Beach bartender always remembered our drinks when we came up. He was so friendly. The activity staff put on an amazing light show, a casino night, a dance night, and were there from 10 am to 10 pm. Kudos to those guys! The water at the beach was not very clear due to rain just about everyday. But it only rained for maybe 30 minutes then it was beautiful again. We swam next door at the El Cozumeleno. Which was fine with us. I had rather stay at the Melia were it was not over crowded and walk a few short yards to El Coz. It was crowded at El Coz!!! We took several excursions and booked through * the tour guide was excellent and met us at every excursion to walk us through what we were going to do and introduce us to our tour guides. We definitely had VIP Service with the tour guide. You must take the Lobster dinner cruise on the pirate ship. It was the best. Those guys did an amazing job I never laughed so hard and long all my life. It was so worth the price, and the food was excellent too. The food at the Melia buffet was great they had a theme night each night and there was always something for everyone. We ate at the reservation restuarant on our wedding night.

I think I must have stayed at a totally different hotel than some of the others whove posted reviews. We stayed here for 7 nights at the end of April. Our room was spotless the bed comfortable and the linens clean. The food was good plentiful and there were always at least 3-4 entree choices ar dinner. We ate at the Cafe Paraiso 4 nights of the 7 and really enjoyed that. Ate lunches at the beachside restaurant. My only criticism is that they were not spraying for mosquitoes and almost everyone at the resort was being bitten - including the staff. Weve stayed all over the Yucatan and in 3 hotels in Cozumel. This hotel is great value for money and well definitely go back.

We just got bak from this hotel, the staff is very nice and the views are great! But if you spend anytime in your room beware. The photos posted do not reflect the current condition of the guest rooms. Our bed was old and very hard, I was itching as were several others guests in our group every time I laid on the bed. I looked at the mattress and box spring and they were both very dirty/soiled and I really think they had bed bugs. From that point on I asked for clean sheets every night and laid on top of towels with clothes on to sleep. Not much sleep for me and since we pre-paid there was course for refund or funds to move to the better hotels next door. The room smelled like mold and the air conditioning made the room smell even more awful. The linens are gray and in my opinion too old to send to charity. This hotel has terrible food and it is no wonder it is so cheap! This was without a doubt my worst stay of my life and I am a very traveled person. 4 stars should be lowered to 1 at most.

We went here with Relatives and had and awsome room I couldnt have been more thrilled at the room and the view from the room. We had one of the rooms with the whirlpool bath on the Balcony and that was intresting. The Staff was great. Food was good. the breakfast was awesome everyday. The Beach was beautiful everyday that we were out lying in the sun. The Drinks we good also. It was worth out money since we only had to pay for the airfare. My husband and I would love to bring our Girls there one day in the newr future. Keep up the great work.

We stayed here in July 08. We searched the web and read all the reviews. At first we were a little leary after reading a couple of the reviews. We went anyway and did not regret it at all. We had a wonderful time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were great and clean. Food was fine. The only problem was the water out in front of the property. The hotel next door built a solid pier out into the water. This impedes the water flow and the water is not as clear as it should be. Other than that we loved the place.
