The hotel has a really great breakfast buffet. Way better than at other hotels in Acapulco. The pool area is awesome and the beach is right at your fingertips. If you get bothered by the merchants which a lot of tourists do, just tell them "No Gracias" and they will leave you alone. If they keep bothering you which most do, make sure to tell the hotel staff. Also there is really no entertainment at this hotel at all. I would really recommend the Fiesta Americana for that. The lobby there is great too. At this hotel though you won't really find teenagers or a younger crowd. Most of the people that stay at this hotel are either Canadian or righ Mexican nationals. I would recommend it though but the beds are really hard and the showed didn't really work well when we were there. But great ocean view.

We have just returned from a quick four day vacation at the Elcano Hotel in Acapulco with our two teenagers. The very best thing about this hotel is the location. It has a stupendous beach front! Every room from the hotel has an ocean view, although if they have an event going on in the evening it can be loud. I woke every morning early and sat out on our balcony to read, relax and just listen to the calming ocean sounds. The furnishings in the room have a bit of wear but over all are perfectly acceptable. My only complaint about the room is that the beds are particularly hard. Our seventeen year old son loved the breakfast buffet which offered fresh made eggs, sopas and quesadillas, along with plenty of other selections which varied slightly daily. We had a junior suite that had two double beds and a fold out sleeper sofa. The room was large and accommodated the four of us more than satisfactorily. There were plenty of good authentic local restaurants within walking distance which added to the allure of the location
